AN ICONIC GERMAN AWARD
The BAMBI Awards 2025 took place for the 77th time at the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich. First awarded in 1948, BAMBI has since become one of Germany’s most iconic honors. With around 1,000 guests from culture, business, politics, and society, the event was both a star-studded gala and an influential media forum. The BAMBI honors individuals who inspire, take courage, and create societal impact.

RETHINKING BAMBI FOR THE STREAMING AGE
For decades, the Bambi Awards aired only on German public TV, mainly ARD, with a brief return on Sat.1. In 2024, the show shifted to streaming on Amazon Prime Video, and in 2025, the gala became fully digital with a free livestream accessible to all Amazon customers, no Prime subscription required (bambi on prime video). This represents a shift that changed Hollywood two decades ago and still is today. Streaming partnerships with Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music & TikTok allowed the event to reach global, digital audiences in the millions (burda.com). It was a win-win for the tech companies as well because new users created free accounts, potentially purchasing something in their ecosystem in the future.
GLOBAL TALENT CELEBRATED FROM EUROPE & BEYOND
The ceremony also honored international personalities, including Cher and Cate Blanchett as well as German athlete Leo Neugebauer (burda.com). Vanessa Mai premiered her new single "Christmas In This Room" live to millions of fans worldwide. This highlights that the BAMBI is not just a national award for Film & TV, but one that intentionally engages on a global stage somewhere between the Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, and MTV Awards.

HOSTS & LIVE FORMATS
The evening was hosted by Michelle Hunziker and content creator Feli, bridging the gap between traditional television and the digital community (bambi.de). A special feature: Besides Amazon Prime Video, TikTok served as the official entertainment partner for social media (burda.com). Between 18:15 and 19:40, exclusive live interviews were streamed from the red carpet on TikTok channels @bambi_awards and @primevideode / @amazonmusic.
THE BUZZ FROM THE SET IN MULTIPLE ANGLES
Red carpet, dressed for gala, flashbulbs, media hustle, the noise started intensely and then shifted to a set-like loudness. Yet, it perfectly suited the Bavaria Film Studios and felt like a big industry event with international media A-listers streaming like a live production, where large teams collaborate, improvise, and bring creativity to the forefront.
Insta360 raw angle (blurred for compliance):
The Insta360 uses AI algorithms to seamlessly stitch together two 180° angles captured by its front and back lenses. This allows for viewpoint and angle adjustments, movement, and effects in post-production using Insta360 Studio, Adobe Premiere, or DaVinci Resolve. Edited footage can be exported in VR, enabling virtual experiences via smartphones or VR headsets.
BAMBI is a media event exploring new broadcasting tools, with devices like Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses appearing at high-profile galas. Creators and guests should be mindful of cameras being present everywhere.
